    \nHow and why does the mitzvah of Mezuzah apply in a professional environment?
    \nThe answer depends on the nature of the premises, how they are used, who occupies them, and whether the space meets the usual halachic requirements of a room and doorway.\n<\/p>\n

    1. The Torah Source and the Basic Principle<\/h2>\n

    \nThe Torah states in the Shema<\/em>:
    \n\u201cYou shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates\u201d<\/strong>
    \n(Deuteronomy 6:9<\/em>).\n<\/p>\n

    \n The expression \u201cyour house\u201d is not limited to a private residence.
    \n A room used regularly for a meaningful purpose may also require a Mezuzah,
    \n provided the usual halachic conditions are fulfilled.\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    \nA business premise can therefore be obligated when it functions as a stable, usable indoor space rather than as a temporary stand or an open-air work area.\n<\/p>\n

    2. When Does a Workplace Require a Mezuzah?<\/h2>\n

    \nSeveral factors determine whether an office or commercial space is obligated:\n<\/p>\n

    \n The room must be used on a regular and established basis.
    \n A daily office, permanent shop, or active workshop will generally be more likely to require a Mezuzah.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

    \n A fixed indoor structure may be obligated.
    \n A temporary booth, outdoor workstation, or short-term exhibition stand usually does not have the same status.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

    \n The classic minimum is four cubits by four cubits,
    \n approximately 1.96 m \u00d7 1.96 m according to a commonly used measure,
    \n or roughly 3.8 to 4 m\u00b2.\n <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
