The “Pitspounim” Tefillin are a pair of compact tefillin, measuring just 22mm x 22mm, designed to offer maximum comfort without compromising on quality.
Their smaller size also aligns with the tradition mentioned in the Zohar, which encourages wearing two pairs of tefillin — one according to Rashi and one according to Rabeinu Tam — making this practice easier to fulfill.
These tefillin are equipped with black straps on both sides, carefully crafted using the traditional “Avodat Yad” method to ensure halachic accuracy and a refined finish.

They are more fragile than Gassot Tefillin and therefore require
greater care when used regularly.
Batim made from much thicker and stronger leather.
Gassot are generally preferred for a pair intended
to be worn daily for many years.
Compact Gassot Tefillin with Batim measuring approximately
22 × 22 mm. They are ideal for those looking
for a particularly small and convenient pair.

Batim, parchments, straps, size, tradition and level of Hiddur:
each of these elements affects the quality, durability and price of a pair of Tefillin.
The price of Tefillin depends mainly on the quality
of the parchments, the type of Batim, the straps and the level of craftsmanship.
Entry-level Tefillin and Mehudar Gassot Tefillin do not require
the same materials or amount of work.
Price should therefore not be the only factor:
durability, writing quality and the desired level of Hiddur are also important.
Batim size can vary considerably.
Some prefer standard-sized Tefillin while others look for smaller models
for greater comfort or to wear two pairs.
The main difference concerns the order of the Torah passages
placed inside the Batim. The pair commonly worn follows the opinion of Rashi.
Many people also wear a second pair according to Rabbeinu Tam.
